First things first.

I'm not gonna lie. In order to officially start Summer of Socks, I had to finish my Coreolis socks (by Cat Bordhi). I tried to photograph them so you could see the swirl that goes around the foot and up the ankle.

You can kind of see it here. The pattern is toe-up, and I used Austermann Step yarn. It's double-stranded, and you use size 7 needles, so they work up very quickly. I'll do them again one of these days.

Now, I'm free and clear to start my SOS socks.

Whew.

In the meantime, I really need to prove that I'm working against type this summer, and am actually able to keep some plants among the living.

For those of you who are avid gardeners (read: every other person in my genetic history), this would not be a Big Deal. However, if you listen closely, you can hear all those little blooms in one collective sigh...

"Whew."

Finally, I just have to show you this lovely tree that we inherited with the new house. It's on the patio, and absolutely beautiful.

I take no credit whatsoever for its survival.

Comments:
I love your socks. Double-stranded, eh? They should be very warm for next winter.

I just bought my first Austermann (or actually DH did). I haven't used it yet.

Excellent socks and the plants are looking great.

Your socks are *so* beautiful! What an awesome pattern, and you've knit them up so beautifully - great color too! Oh, and your plants - they look great and pretty happy as I see it! ;)

love the socks! i know how ya feel about surviving plants ;)

The socks look great! I just started a pair with that yarn recently myself. And hooray for plants being alive! I've managed to do a bit of that myself too. :)
